Description
The Kagenaar Rijnemeid has a lot of contact with aquatic life due to its construction and many windows. With its powerful main engine, hydraulic steering, and bow and stern propellers, it is a very easy and ready-to-sail ship. The spacious enclosed cockpit offers many seating options but is still protected by the deck tent, which is easy to unzip. Maintenance on the underwater hull was carried out in the spring of 2025, making the ship completely ready to sail for this summer. Are you looking for a compact and complete ship for long-term recreational use? Then be sure to check out the Rijnemeid in Warmond.
Layout
You can step in at ground level through an opening in the cockpit. There is enough space for a seating area with an unobstructed view all around. The helm is elevated and provides a good view while sailing. The co-pilot can sit at the same height on the port side to enjoy the passing landscapes.
In the middle is the entrance to the cabin, with a compact toilet on the port side and an open kitchen on the starboard side, which leads into the spacious living room with long benches on both sides. The table in the middle can be transformed into a sleeping area together with the benches. Further forward is the spacious bathroom with a shower, and at the front is the master bedroom with ample storage space under the bed and under the foredeck. From the master bedroom, you also have direct access to the foredeck for a refreshing dip.
History
The ship used to transport a lot of soil in the Westland. When that transport was taken over by trucks, it was built by shipyard M. van Waveren from Monter into the current recreational ship.
Technology
The ship has been very well maintained by the current owner and is in excellent condition. Maintenance on the underwater hull was carried out in the spring of 2025. The strong Ford engine of 60 hp with Paragon reversing gearbox, cooling pipes, and a sturdy dynamo provides propulsion. The latter ensures sufficient power for the bow and stern propellers. The hydraulic steering makes steering a pleasure.
For comfort, there is a gas heater for air heating, an electric boiler of 60 liters, and a kitchen with a refrigerator, sink, and free-standing gas stove. There is a spacious shower cabin with a drainage pump and a separate electric toilet. The 1500-watt inverter provides 220 volts.
Sailing Area
The ship is perfect for exploring the Dutch and European waterways by motor. The limited draft, cooling pipes, swing keels, and the bow and stern propellers make sailing very easy.
Given its dimensions, it is welcome in the marina, but also in some historical harbors. The ship can be sailed without a boating license.
