Description
Very seaworthy modern sailing yacht with a classic look, demonstration boat.
Tradewind Islander
The sailing cutter Tradewind Islander is the big brother of the Atoll, with its two extra meters in length. These two meters are immediately noticeable above deck, but mainly mean a lot of living and storage space below deck.
The original hull shape, the multi-chine frame, provides even more space inside and good sailing characteristics for the boat. When sailing upwind, the boat sits comfortably on its side at the upper chine, which extends the waterline and gives a pleasant speed when sailing upwind. Like all Tradewind models, the boat has the CE-A certification, meaning it is suitable for sailing on all the world's oceans.
The Tradewind sailing yachts are known for their traditional appearance and solid construction. The polyester hull – built according to the 'hand-lay-up' method – is stylishly finished with mahogany, stainless steel, or bronze and leather. Both on deck and in the cabin, a classic atmosphere is created. The interior brings back the old times: the double berth in the forward cabin with a dressing table, the large hanging locker, the main cabin with two seating/sleeping benches, the pilot berth, the spacious galley, and a full-size navigation area with plenty of storage space everywhere. Of course, there is a wet cell with toilet and shower facilities, made from a single polyester mold, making it easy to keep clean. There is enough space to create two lockable cabins or an extra dog berth.
The high-quality materials used to build the Tradewind Islander guarantee minimal maintenance. The deck of the sailing cutter is almost entirely covered with “Treadmaster” anti-slip material, which greatly enhances deck safety. Furthermore, a lot of stainless steel and solid teak are used on deck. The mast, gaff, and bowsprit are also equipped with stainless steel fittings, and the boat has a deep, comfortable cockpit with large storage spaces.
The ship is equipped with: Volvo Penta 3-blade folding propeller (2001), electric anchor winch, self-tailing winches, roller reefing system for the genoa and for the staysail, lazy jacks for the mainsail.
Deck prisms, Treadmaster anti-slip on deck, Lewmar hatches, stainless steel deck fittings, teak on cockpit benches and teak slatted flooring in the cockpit, electric and manual bilge pump, shore power connection and cable, battery charger, separate battery system, permanently mounted radar reflector on top of the mast, Furuno radar, Simrad wind set, depth sounder and log with readable daughter instruments inside on the full-size chart table, chart table equipped with lamp with night blind, VHF radio, Eberspacher hot air heating with 4 outlets, teak interior, radio/CD player, 2-burner Origo oven & grill (semi-gimbaled).
Hydrofoor and boiler for hot water shower in the wet cell, kitchen and outdoor shower in the cockpit, 12V cooler, double sink, cold water foot pump, mounted drinking water filter, fenders and shore lines, boat hook and anchor.
The bowsprit is easy to bring in.
The ship has only been used as a demonstration ship, in new condition and has never been slept on.
